For most Endocrinology studies majors, an advanced degree/doctorate is required where, as a physicians or surgeon, you will work in both clinical and nonclinical settings. Clinical settings include physicians' offices and hospitals; nonclinical settings include government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and insurance companies.  The path to becoming a doctor will require you to specialize in endocrinology to become a practicing endocrinologist.
