International and Intercultural Communication Major

International and Intercultural Communication Studies is a program that focuses on the specialized knowledge and skills needed for effective communication in the international community and among people of different cultures; and that prepares individuals to function at the national and international levels as journalists, public relations specialists, travel industry representatives, intercultural trainers, and/or foreign service officers.

International and Intercultural Communication majors and degree programs will include instruction in journalism, communications, intercultural and international relations, marketing and public relations, and global communications policy.

What can you do with a major/degree in International and Intercultural Communication Studies?

People with a major/degree in this field are prepared to pursue a career in international settings, fields such as brand management and advertising, public relations, journalism, politics, government, trade and commerce, education, and financial services.  As well, with an advanced degree you will have the option of pursuing career jobs with non-profits or government agencies, political lobbying firms, public relations groups, brokerage houses or banks, social advocacy organizations, newspapers or publishers, universities, or other employers that have transnational interests.
