Web/Multimedia Management and Webmaster Major

Web/Multimedia Management and Webmaster is a program that prepares people to develop and maintain web servers and the hosted web pages at one or a group of web sites, and to function as designated webmasters.

Web/Multimedia Management and Webmaster majors and degree programs includes instruction in computer systems and networks, server installation and maintenance, web page design and editing, information resources management, web policy and procedures, Internet applications of information systems security, user interfacing and usability research, and relevant management and communications skills.

What can you do with a major/degree in Web/Multimedia Management and Webmaster?

With a major/degree in this field, you likely will manage web environment design, deployment, development, and maintenance activities.  You also may be responsible for performing testing and quality assurance ‘dry runs’ before publishing of web environments and applications.  A certificate or associate degree will get you into the field.  However, you would best be served with a bachelor’s degree to hold such job titles as (but not exclusive to) webmaster, web director, and web content manager.
